[1] Pasadena, Cal. April 11th 1931 Dear Uncle John and Lady Lewis You know by now how shocked I was and am over the choice of Modles [sic] to represent Chas. It is beyond understanding. You know I treasure your friendship and love for Chas so feel you will understand my feeling about that modle[sic] – It must portray so many things why make an old mans image to live forever woulden[sic] beauty strength and health be better, Its admiration not [illegible] you ^we^ are after – Montana would never be proud of that crumbling sad figure, That is not the happy [2] Charlie we know and love, Please understand what I mean – Just for your information I will send a photo of the base of this Lion figure which will explain its self – Please ship me the bronze by express I understand it has been sent back to you. I hope it has not been to much bother- I am looking forward to seeing you & lady Lewis in June – lots of love to you both Nancy Russell
