September 5, 1931. Mr. J. R. Hobbins Anaconda Copper Company Butte, Montana. Dear Jim: There is no way to express my appreciation for the wheels you started turning. Just the satis- faction to you to see everybody happy and our Charlie properly honored will be your pay. You know you have my heartfelt gra itude[sic] and I am certain what you have done will be the means of solving the problem. I feel that your message to Mr. Lewis and Mr. Ritch has given them confidence to go head. Gee! but I appreciate it! I am enclosing a copy of a letter I am writing the Governor for you information. I trust I did the right thing in writing to him as I did. His not being in Helena until Wednesday makes it impossible for me to be at the meeting for Jack’s school opens on the 14th and we must be on our way tomorrow. It was wonderful to see the Hobbins family – whom I love – at their lovely home on Rocky Point, I thank you for taking me to Polson on the “Bertha B.” Affectionately,
