[1] Nov. 30-26 Mrs. Nancy Russell Great Falls Mont. Dear Mrs. Russell; Received your letter of the 27th this afternoon and note what you say about the house. It was a terrible shock to us upon hearing that Mr Russell had been called and knowing what it meant to you I did not not feel that you would or should be worrying about the house house here so that I just thought the better thing to do was just to let things here rest until you would feel that you could consider what should be done. Really thought that if you did decide to finish the house that you would perhaps make some changes and for this reason I have cancelled the contracts for materials etc for the present . The first floor boarding is on and me were just ready to set studs for the first story ^when^ we stopped work. It is not at all too late to make changes if you should wish so that unless I hear from you regarding any changes I will continue according to the plans. Of course if you should decide to change any part of the arrangement it would be much more economical to do it right away. I am making arrangements to commence again by day after tomorrow and will hurry it as much as possible. You ask about the cost so far, but I have not made up a statement and will not be able to in order to get it off with this reply but can send it to you later. You might send me a check for $2500. if it will not inconvenience you right now. In a previous letter you mentioned that you could not exactly picture the fireplace in the large room so I managed to find a picture of a similar fireplace and I have sketched in the ceiling timbering to give you a better idea of it. We will be [2] laying brick for the fireplace in about eight or nine days so that you will have time to make a change should you want something different. Will be only too glad to make any other drawings that you feel you might like to see so I hope you will not hesitate in making mention of it because I surely want you to be pleased with my work when it is complete. I am glad to note that you expect to be here before Christmas for we will surely be glad to see you. Now Mrs Russell if there is anything that I can do for you aside from the house I will be only too glad to do it and hope you will not hesitate to call on me.
