Beaded leather moccasins with fringed toe and yellow pigment / Unidentified

Essay/Description

Partially beaded moccasins with hard sole, red bands of beadwork, and yellow pigment over entire moccasin. There are matching designs of simple split fringe on the toe and is peko edged.

Curatorial Remarks

Southern Plains, Comanche, Kiowa basic style moccasin. It is identified with the Native American Church and powwow. This style came about between the 1930s and 1940s.
