Essay/Description

Man's hide shirt with blue and orange quill work and long fringe on the collar and arms with brass bells

Curatorial Remarks

This is a man's jacket that would have been worn over a shirt. This style appears to be of late 19th century Anglo-American influence during the reservation period. There may be a relationship between the introduction of jackets and vests during this time.
